San Francisco, CA: Following the passage of Proposition 8 on November 4th, 2008, the banning of same-sex marriages, thousands of protesters took to the streets all over California. The first two demonstrations took place in San Francisco and Los Angeles on November 7th and 8th respectively. Protesters gathered and marched to show support for the LGBT Community (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender) and while the sizable crowds were raucous and even defiant in some instances, the substantial police presence kept the crowd from becoming unruly.
